Moving Process:

  1. Assigned to class dormitories (according to the original class or reassignment, yet to be decided)
  2. Internal negotiation within the class to form dorm groups (prepare for dorm dismantling)
  3. After dorm groups are confirmed, the class will announce the dorm allocation document
  4. Moving

Remarks:

  1. There will be school buses and cargo trucks responsible for transportation; school buses will transport students, while Huolala trucks will handle the students’ luggage
  2. Generally, one cargo truck can carry the luggage of 8 people
  3. It is recommended to declutter your luggage, as the storage space in the West Campus dormitories is relatively small (especially in the first-year female dormitories)
  4. Females will most likely live in the first-year dormitory (six-person room, bunk beds), males will most likely live in the second-year dormitory (4-5 person rooms, bunk bed with desk underneath), and some may be assigned to four-person rooms sharing with senior graduate students

Male Dormitory (Bunk bed with desk below, Xue 2nd Building, Xue 6th Building)

Xue 2nd Building

Xue 2nd Building has bunk beds with desks below.

There are four-person, five-person, and six-person rooms in Xue 2nd Building. Undergraduates mostly have five-person rooms, depending on how many people are assigned.

The six-person rooms have five beds and the space is smaller compared to Liangxiang.

Xue 2nd Building has two elevators on both the east and west sides, stopping on every floor.

Xue 6th Building

Main dormitory for the School of Management, all with bunk beds and desks below. Coed dormitory.

Xueyi Building 5

Xueyi 5 is co-ed, with bunk beds over desks. There are four-person, three-person, and two-person rooms. Bunk beds over desks but space is very limited, so hardly any storage room.

Most three-person rooms are co-ed, with PhD students and graduate students.

Relatively speaking, four-person rooms have more space and also have a study room, which is connected to the balcony where clothes can be hung to dry.

Four-person room:

Wooden bed board width: 85cm, length: 190cm

General Issues:

Electrical Appliances:

You can use a pot; it’s said that Xueyi limits power to 300W. Appliances with higher wattage need to be used in the laundry room. Dorm supervisors frequently check the rooms, but mostly just glance from outside and the inspections are not very strict.

Bed Curtain Issue:

It is recommended that everyone measures the bed themselves after moving in before purchasing, as the sizes vary for different beds and for upper and lower bunks.

Laundry Issue:

Both Heping Street and Liangxiang campuses have raccoon washing tubs available; the West Campus has laundromats where you can wash shoes.

Study Room:

It is very necessary to bring a desk lamp for the dormitory study rooms, as the study rooms are very small and narrow.

Barber Shop:

There are many barber shops around the West Campus, but you need to judge by yourself whether they are reliable.

Dormitory Supplies:

You can use a bedside table; the closet is very small and cannot hold many items, so you can buy your own cabinet.

Surveillance Issue:

There are cameras installed in the hallways of the West Campus dormitories, but the dormitory management cannot view them. You need to contact campus security.

Air Conditioner and Fan:

Xue’er dormitory has fans (barely used, some are broken) and air conditioners (can cool; heating sometimes trips the circuit breaker and requires turning off preheating).

Microwave Oven:

There are microwaves in the dormitory buildings, generally on the first floor of the dormitory.

Raccoon Washing Tub Issue:
