This article only applies to mainland students currently studying at Hepingjie Campus; the situation is unknown for Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Liangxiang campuses.

Recently, a procedure requires a Beijing residence permit, and to apply for a Beijing residence permit, you need to prove where you live in Beijing. For on-campus students, of course, it’s at the school, so first obtain a residence certificate from the school. This article records the application process.

Note: The validity of the registration card is equivalent to the residence permit. We must first apply for the registration card and can only apply for the residence permit after six months. See details:

The related service is handled by Asset Management Office - Household Registration Section - Teacher Zhou Li.
The Asset Management Office is located on the east side of the north gate of Hepingjie Campus (north side of the gymnasium), and the Household Registration Section is in room 102. You can call in advance to check whether Teacher Zhou Li is available. BUCM各职能部门联系电话（2022版

Now the process is written down to avoid running back and forth:

Fill in the Residence Registration Card Application Form

First, open the Digital North Beijing TCM - Service Hall, search for residence, and download this approval form.

It roughly looks like this. Print the page that needs to be filled in and fill in the relevant content by hand.

Get the homeroom teacher’s signature, then the college leadership’s signature (the homeroom teacher will tell you how to get the college leadership’s signature after signing).

Get the Security Office’s stamp from Teacher Zhou Li to obtain the residence certificate

Bring the signed approval form to Teacher Zhou Li to get the residence certificate.

Apply for the Beijing Residence Registration Card via WeChat official account

Open the official account Beijing Residence Permit - I want to apply - Residence Registration Card, and upload the residence certificate.

Wait for Public Security approval

If there is any problem, they will call you, so keep your phone available.
