[[Loop diuretics]] have the best diuretic effect, but they also cause potassium loss during diuresis, so precautions must be taken before use.
- Blood potassium: If blood potassium is insufficient, potassium supplementation can be given simultaneously with diuresis. The common potassium supplementation method is oral administration, which is reliable. Potassium-sparing diuretics such as spironolactone can also be chosen, but their diuretic effect is about 10% of the same dose of loop diuretics.
- Blood pressure: Diuresis leads to decreased circulating volume, which further causes blood pressure to drop, resulting in insufficient perfusion and organ failure.
