A021-030 Summary

Preface

New ten entries, new gains
Lately, every day has brought many gains, but firstly, time is tight so I want to sleep more; secondly, some things are fragmented and hard to write about; thirdly, some content is better left unsaid to avoid offending others.

Series

Learning Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Western Medicine Practitioners

  • A024 made a podcast — Vol.6 Chatting with a Neurosurgeon in a TCM Hospital: Talking with a neurosurgeon from Dongzhimen Hospital about TCM and Western medicine. Having heard TCM practitioners talk about Western medicine many times, this time we listen to how Western practitioners talk about TCM. I thought this topic might easily provoke disputes, but after the talk, I found the experts all integrate Chinese and Western medicine. Those who oppose TCM/Western medicine often lack sufficient understanding and ability.
  • A030 Notes from a Surgery Lecture: After listening to a lecture by the Director of General Surgery at Dongzhimen Hospital, what a TCM practitioner can learn about qualities that TCM people usually don’t emphasize from Western medicine practitioners.

You can read from the earliest to the latest to witness recent progress.

Miscellaneous Notes

A021 Ups and Downs of the CET-6 Exam: Finally passed the CET-6, summarizing failures and successes. Combined with previous failures in Chinese Materia Medica exams, now I feel indifferent to exams, just extending the timeline, gaining enough experience, passing is enough.

If you want to hear about my exam failures, listen to this episode.

A022 Recent Summary of Artificial Intelligence Learning: This one is relatively professional. If you don’t understand it, that’s fine; to be honest, I don’t fully understand either. If I did, I would have published a paper by now. Orz

A023 Diamond Sutra and Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils: Under guidance from a senior brother, started reading the Diamond Sutra seriously. Also found many similarities when reading the novel Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils carefully. But most of the time, reading novels is just for fun without thinking, resulting in no gains. No matter; learn what you should, enjoy what you should.

A025 Pausing Updates: When recording a podcast, chatted with a top media person about TCM. I was embarrassed by a few of their questions and decided to pause updates to study properly. But I haven’t managed to keep this for a full month yet. Will share gains in a few days.

A026 Whether my Hair is Long or Short, I am Still Myself: After a buzz cut until today, I feel efficiency has significantly improved when washing hair, bathing, and drying hair. No more hair blocking eyes or needing to move it aside. But just after shaving, the first few days felt a bit chilly. Many consider this an important choice, but I think it’s common. I’ve done this several times before, like in junior or senior high school when my grades dropped, I burned a whole wall of certificates. Because whenever someone came over, my mom would show off, but my grades were no longer first, which was awkward, so I burned them. Unexpectedly, every time someone came later, my mom would point to that wall saying there used to be a whole wall of certificates… In ancient times, Goujian shaved his hair to show resolve; now I have a buzz cut to clear my mind? Come on, it’s just because long hair is troublesome, not some great ambition.

A027 Using Mouth More and Energy Less but Feeling Powerless: A sermon channeling Lu Xun, unsure if anyone will feel encouraged or provoked.

Conclusion

Time is so precious, but questions are endless. Plan well, keep putting in effort, and results will come.
