Preface
After finishing [[A089 Taishang Wuqing, then Indulgence, then Affectation]] yesterday, as a captain, I really wanted to take off and soar in the sky.
In the past, I would restrain myself: No! Because leaders a, b, c, and d said no (Leader A said you are a TCM practitioner and can’t do this, Leader B said you have work tomorrow and can’t do this, etc.), then I would spend the whole night reading the operation manual, but in the end still had to go on missions.
Now I don’t restrain myself anymore; I indulge. If I want to fly, then I fly. Who cares about leaders a, b, c, and d? Besides, I don’t fly every day, only once or twice a month. And if I don’t fly now, I will fly in the next few hours or days, so this time I need to spend a lot of time and energy restraining myself.
In short, I decided to go on a mission. After some preparation, I successfully drove out of the runway and soared into the sky. Next, I will write about the feeling of my body at the moment of takeoff when it leaves the earth’s gravitational pull.
One
Just before flying, about to ascend, I have already entered the takeoff reflex; the engine is in position, the cargo is loaded, and there’s no turning back. At this moment, I feel a slight sour pain along a few lines on the inner thigh (these lines are not very deep, unclear if they follow the three Yin meridians). Perhaps it’s the kidney Qi that was pulled out giving a flush. The sour pain resembles the feeling described in [[A087 The Moisture of Yin and the Warmth of Yang]] when the Yangming meridian is flushed open, but then it is only a dull persistent pain, without any moisture or warmth. I have verified this feeling many times. I don’t know why after acupuncture and medication there is subsequent Yin-Yang repair, but there is none when taking off.
Two
After takeoff, at the moment of leaving the earth’s gravitational pull, I feel my entire body empties; all troubles and bodily discomforts temporarily disappear. Maybe this is why everyone loves taking off.
However, yesterday I found that at this moment my lower back also empties—not at the usual spots like Shenshu, Mingmen, or Yaoyangguan, but rather lower and more lateral, around the third lumbar transverse process. This is also a place I often feel emptiness. In the past, staying up late or lying down for too long would cause emptiness here; now I realize takeoff causes emptiness here too. ![]()
Three
Additionally, my body experiences a wave of floating heat. A few days ago, after catching a cold, I drank Guizhi Decoction and other exterior-releasing medications, and at that time I had the same feeling: heat floating on the superficial areas of the head and face, radiating outward. This heat is completely different from the heat after physical exercise—after exercise, the heat inside the body needs to be released, and if the inside is not hot, the outside heat quickly dissipates. After taking exterior-releasing medicines, there is no internal heat, only external heat like a source-less fire, and the heat lasts a long time (at least half an hour).
This is the most direct experience I have felt of the kidney’s role of “secreting and storing.” Clearly, this floating heat disturbed the kidney, failing the seal and storage.
End
Combining this experience, in the future “I” should naturally reduce the number of takeoffs, not because of leaders a, b, c, and d, but because “I” no longer want to take off so much.
However, it is also possible this experience just added a new leader e ![]()
