Is the flu currently severe in the country?

Our child has been having recurring fevers. Is the flu more severe recently?

Which strain is primarily circulating?

Based on observations from the frontline of emergency care, influenza is indeed quite severe, but I personally believe that every winter is a peak season for flu, so there is no need to worry too much. As for the specific virus causing the infection, that is a relatively less important issue—because regardless of the virus type, the treatment methods are pretty similar.

Therefore, I think it is more important to do what you can: ventilate by opening windows, wear masks properly, maintain a regular schedule, balance work and rest, and so on. Trust your immune system; new viruses will always emerge, but the body will also always adapt.

The above is answered from the perspective of Western medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) would have different ideas, but I don’t have much clinical experience treating colds with it. Currently, I only recommend ordinary parents use one medicine: Jingfang Baidu San (Jingfang granules), for the early stage of a cold. It’s suitable for both adults and children, sweet and almost tasteless. For example, if you start feeling a bit dizzy or have nasal congestion, it acts like a rapid vanguard, quickly defeating the early-stage disease before it develops into later stages with high fever, body aches, cough, etc. For details, see 感冒中成药——荆防败毒散

I won’t say more here not to seem annoying.

Okay, okay.

Thank you.
