Five types of immunoglobulins — IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE, IgD

Can be remembered as gamed——IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE, IgD

[[IgG]]

—— Most widely distributed (abundant) (65%-70% in blood plasma), widely present in blood and tissue fluid, a very small monomer
Produced during primary immune response and secondary immune response, mainly secreted by plasma cells in the secondary immune response

Functions

  • Activates the [[complement system]], thereby activating the [[membrane attack complex]]
  • Enhances [[opsonin]]? What is opsonin? Forgot
  • [[Neutralization]], binds to viral antigens, rendering them non-functional and neutralizing their toxicity
  • One end attaches to the antigen, the other forms large [[precipitation]] complexes, and one end binds to phagocytic white blood cells, accelerating [[phagocytosis]]
  • Transported to the fetus through the placenta, providing the fetus with some immunity against pathogens already exposed to the mother
