Introduction
This edition of the textbook contains 37 chapters, with content organized according to subspecialties within obstetrics and gynecology, arranged in the order of obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive planning, women’s health care, and sexual medicine. In obstetrics, the order follows prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum stages, with physiological and pathological aspects arranged within each period; in gynecology, the order is general gynecology, gynecologic oncology, and reproductive endocrinology subspecialties, with gynecologic diseases arranged by external genital diseases and internal genital diseases. In view of the rapid development of precision diagnosis and treatment technologies for gynecologic tumors, a dedicated chapter on “Genetic Testing and Targeted Therapy and Immunotherapy for Gynecologic Tumors” has been added. Each chapter begins with highly condensed key knowledge points to facilitate teaching and learning; each chapter ends with review questions that link theory to practice and strengthen clinical thinking. This textbook emphasizes evidence-based medicine and expert consensus, introducing a large number of high-quality clinical practice guidelines/standard core points, especially including Chinese guidelines/standards adapted to national conditions. Following the medical development trend from “disease diagnosis and treatment” to “health maintenance,” content on the prevention of various obstetric and gynecologic diseases and health management throughout the life cycle has been added. Capitalizing on the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, and strengthening the integration of Chinese and Western medicine, consensus on gynecologic traditional Chinese medicine has been expanded in multiple chapters including ovulation disorders and abnormal uterine bleeding.
