Comparison with Other Similar Software
EndNote
EndNote supports only two levels of directories, while Zotero supports multiple levels of classification.
EndNote does not support tags, but with Zotero you can easily find, categorize, and manage via tags.
EndNote is paid software: the standard version is priced at 1818 RMB on the official website, and the education version at 1218 RMB.
Mendeley
Mendeley is free but not open source.
Migrating Mendeley data to a new computer is rather troublesome and may consume a lot of your time and effort.
Mendeley cannot be used fully offline, and under domestic network environments, you might occasionally face login failures to the Mendeley website, causing inability to use the software.
NoteExpress
NoteExpress is a domestic reference management software with better support for Chinese literature and databases, but it is also paid software, with a standard lifetime license priced at 1980 RMB.
NoteExpress supports only Windows; Mac and Linux are unsupported.
CNKI Yanxue (知网研学)
CNKI Yanxue supports fewer databases, and on Mac it supports only the CNKI academic database.
The subscription fees for CNKI Yanxue are: university edition 198 RMB/year, standard edition 998 RMB/year, premium edition 3298 RMB/year; please consider accordingly.
