Li Dexiu is honored as the founder of the San Zi Jing school of pediatric tuina and is a nationally recognized pediatric tuina expert. At age 17, he became deaf due to illness. Later, he met Qi Jinghan, principal of Weihai Qingquan School, who gifted him the Qing dynasty medical masterpiece “Tuina San Zi Jing” by Xu Qinguang. After eight years of study, in 1920 he opened a clinic in Qingdao. In 1955, when Qingdao City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established, he served as the head of the pediatrics department. Due to his superb medical skills and high moral standards, he was designated as one of the academic inheritance and rescue experts of traditional Chinese medicine in Shandong Province and Qingdao City.
