The two types of drugs have different properties. Lipid-soluble drugs are not easily soluble in water and are metabolized through the liver, while water-soluble drugs are easily soluble in water and are metabolized through the kidneys. Lipid-soluble drugs can fuse with the phospholipid bilayer of the cell membrane, making them easy to absorb. Water-soluble drugs refer to drugs that are easily soluble in organic solvents. Among statin lipid-lowering drugs, rosuvastatin, pravastatin, and fluvastatin are water-soluble, while lovastatin, pitavastatin, atorvastatin, and simvastatin are lipid-soluble.
