Last year, due to company requirements, I registered an Apple Developer account using my personal Apple ID and linked my Alipay account to enable automatic renewal. As a result, upon expiration of my account, Apple automatically charged me ¥688. This amount was first deducted from my personal bank deposit; I must submit a reimbursement request to recover it. Although the annual membership fee of ¥688 is not high for the company, our internal project priorities have shifted this year, and we no longer plan to focus on iOS app development.

I had no choice but to embark on the lengthy process of requesting a refund from Apple (which truly proved extremely difficult—especially for someone with limited English proficiency).

Initially, I followed online tutorials and attempted to submit a refund request via my Mac computer and the iTunes Store, and also called Apple’s customer service hotline (400-666-8800). However, after testing, I found these methods ineffective (perhaps they are functional—but I neither understood nor located the correct procedure).

Later, following guidance from Apple’s customer service representatives at 400-666-8800:

Refunds for Apple Developer subscriptions can only be processed through direct contact with Apple Technical Support—either by phone or email.

Thus, I opened my web browser and searched for the official Apple Developer website (Apple Developer), beginning another long search for a phone number or email support entry (please don’t laugh, fellow English-proficient users—I genuinely spent a very long time searching!).

Step 1: Open your browser and log in to your Apple ID

Step 2: Scroll down the page to locate Agreements, then click into App Store Connect

Step 3: Continue scrolling down the page until you find Contact Us, then click Get Support

Step 4: Select Membership & AccountPlan Purchases & Renewals

Step 5: On the “Contact Us” page, choose either phone or email support

Step 6: Remember to select country code +86 before entering your phone number. If you enter it incorrectly, simply refresh the entire page.

After Apple’s support representative verifies your identity, clearly explain your request. Then, watch closely over the next few days for follow-up via phone call or email.
