The water brewed tastes like shelled sunflower seeds. After drinking, the throat feels slightly itchy; not sure if it’s caused by Haijinhua residue clinging on, or if the water itself is irritating. Drinking the dregs feels like chewing sand.
It’s quite cold in nature; after drinking, there is a noticeable tingling and slight cooling sensation in the perineum and Yuchen (玉尘) areas. Its reputation for treating urethritis is well deserved.
Efficacy: Clears heat and promotes urination (mainly for urethritis).

Nature is truly amazing; a plant that looks like kelp, tastes like kelp when chewed, and the brewed water resembles kelp soup.
After drinking, there is some distension in the area of both kidneys, developing into a near slight pain that lasts about 2 minutes before gradually easing. During this time, the drip rate of urine from the ureters to the bladder slightly increases; after another 2 minutes, the bottom and back of the lungs feel a little cool, and the throat feels refreshed.

Did not experience heart-fire clearing. Besides strong diuresis, it doesn’t seem to have other special effects, and instead causes a slight stuffy feeling in the chest and some fullness in the stomach—I haven’t eaten dinner these past few days, yet it still makes my stomach feel full. Perhaps using it as a weight loss medicine is a kind of waste utilization?
