Not sure if it’s useful or not, but since there’s no cost or negative impact, why not give it a try?
Last time, I accompanied a friend to remove a fishbone. Removing a fishbone isn’t expensive, but the device used is very costly (an electronic scope that can be controlled directionally and viewed, similar to an arthroscope or laparoscope).

Friends who have seen Master Ni should still remember the method he mentioned in the video for when a fishbone gets stuck:

When I was learning from Master Ni, the most impressive thing was this method, but I never had the chance to use it until something happened the other day and I tested it out.

The other day, a friend was eating fish, and a fishbone got stuck in his throat. He described it as stuck deep in the muscles on the left side of his throat, feeling like the bone was pierced inside the flesh.

So we first tried some conventional small methods: coughing, drinking large gulps of soup, vinegar… etc., but none provided obvious relief.

I said, let’s burn the fishbone, Master Ni mentioned it before, so let’s give it a try.

We borrowed a lighter from the waiter and started burning the fishbone.

Here are photos of the fishbone being burned at that time:

My friend chewed and swallowed the charred fishbone ash little by little. He clearly felt that eating it was “pulling” the stuck fishbone towards the center of the throat, and then it slowly went down. Eating a bit eased the pain step by step until it disappeared.

When the fishbone was stuck, my friend said eating it felt okay and quite tasty. Later, out of curiosity, I tried some too (to be honest, it really smelled good during burning), but then I discovered, oh my, it was really bitter and hard to eat.

Later, after he got better, when he ate the burnt fishbone again, he also found it very bitter and unpleasant.

This time, the fishbone removal method shared by Master Ni was finally verified. Since the early days of studying medicine, I have always deeply respected Master Ni. There are still many “hard-to-explain” methods in this world, and we should maintain reverence for them.
